I am the Training and Sentinel Co-ordinator for Pod-Trak. My job ensures employees who work both on-site and in the office have the relevant training and competencies in order to successfully and safely do their jobs.

I am entrusted with a lot of responsibility. If a delegate’s competencies were to expire then this could have serious implications on other jobs, and for the company.

Having graduated from University, it was a great honour to be given such responsibilities in such a short space of time. My role is very challenging and gives me a sense of great job satisfaction.

Working with Pod-Trak has allowed me to utilise the skills I gained during my time at University and gave me an opportunity to further develop myself. I feel Pod-Trak has enabled me to develop professionally so I can progress further in my career.

My favourite thing about working at Pod-Trak is the team spirit and how people are willing to support each other.

This has helped me fit into my new role as smoothly as possible – considering I recently graduated from university.

My colleagues have been very patient and helpful and it is thanks to them that I have already learned so much in the short time that I have been here.

I am currently completing a year-long placement at Pod-Trak. I will then go back and complete my final year at Maynooth University.

I joined the company only a few months ago and I already feel at home. I have made great friends and love where I work. Pod-Trak has done everything to make me feel at home from my move from Ireland.

Pod-Trak has not been afraid to pass over responsibility to me, which is great because it enables me to learn the real working world first-hand.

I am working on exciting projects which I know will make a difference to the company while helping me to develop important skills, for instance, the Pod-Trak graduate scheme.

Not only am I learning the real world of business and what it looks like to run a massive company day-to-day, but I have been given the opportunity to learn a whole new industry.

I am so excited to see what is to come in the next few months I have here.

Coming into my role with very little experience, I did not think I would have received so much responsibility and experience in such a small amount of time.

Pod-Trak has given me great insight into how its projects are planned and executed both commercially and operationally.

The company focuses on reliability and effective problem solving but also on building relationships, which has given me a greater understanding of my working environment as my career progresses.

After studying in design, I joined Pod-Trak and have been given the opportunity to complete a Degree in Civil Engineering.

I learned everything about setting out on site and the importance of an engineer’s role and Pod-Trak’s hands-on approach has helped me to learn quickly.

From that, I was then shown more and more of what it takes to be an engineer.

A Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) is one of the many competencies I have gained since joining Pod-Trak.

In my Graduate HSQE Advisor role, I get to work with others as a team – we have to assist in the development, management, implementation and monitoring of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management System by updating everything in line with legislation or best practice.

This is vital, as it allows us to constantly better ourselves as a business, ensuring we are the best at what we do. Pod-Trak is a fantastic place to put all the theories you learned throughout your studies into practice. The knowledge you gain across all of our different divisions is invaluable.

Working closely with both the Commercial and Operations teams, I guarantee materials are bought at the right price, delivered on time, and are of the best quality.

The great thing about working at Pod-Trak is no two days are the same. One minute I could be sourcing Coping Stones for Kings Cross Station, and the next I could be buying Railway Sleepers for a project in Edinburgh.

I have recently gone back to University to study a Masters conversion course in Quantity Surveying at London South Bank University. This is an example of the kind of upskilling available for all employees at Pod-Trak. The company allows me the time to study alongside my work duties to ensure I can balance my commitments.

This will allow me to become a far more rounded and highly skilled employee with a greater understanding of all functions of a construction business.
