Pod-Trak wins Supplier & Contractor Excellence Award

Pod-Trak is delighted to announce its success at the 21st Rail Business Awards. Its joint-entry to the Supplier & Contractor Excellence category with Heathrow Airports, Camlin Rail, Fairhurst & Partners and Network Rail was awarded the trophy at the glittering ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane on 21st February.

Pod-Trak was recognised for its vital part in the Pantobot 3D, an innovative product developed by Camlin and implemented in the UK by the five-company alliance. It has numerous benefits over its traditional monitoring counterparts, the most notable of these being complete automation. Unexpected downtime has been greatly reduced, and it enables events like the three-day shutdown in 2015 to be avoided.

One of the key factors in this project’s success was the strength of the alliance. Having companies from different ends of the supply chain come together to take advantage of multiple competences is precisely what allowed the team to build value for Heathrow Airport. Each stage of the project was planned and carried out collaboratively, creating advantages by treating the alliance as a living system and allowing it to progress and evolve constantly in its capabilities.
