Last week, David Lowes (MSc CMIOSH GradIEMA IFSM) from Pod-Trak successfully completed the Construction Sport Nuclear Cycle Route, a 300-mile journey from EDF’s Hinkley Point C in Somerset to Sizewell C in Suffolk.
The four-day event, held from Monday 7 to Thursday 10 April, brought together a team of construction professionals to raise awareness and funds for mental health in the construction industry. Proudly sponsored by the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA), the challenge aimed to spark open conversations around wellbeing and suicide prevention across the sector.
The riders covered hundreds of miles through tough weather and terrain, finishing strong at Sizewell C having already raised over £2,800 for the cause.
Paul O’Donnell, Managing Director, said:
“This event showed the best of what our industry stands for – teamwork, resilience and care for one another. We’re incredibly proud of David and everyone who took part in supporting such an important cause.”
Congratulations to the entire team at Construction Sport for organising and completing a challenge that continues to make a real difference across the construction community.
