Over weekends 25 and 26, Pod-Trak’s Permanent Way team successfully delivered two challenging wheel-timber renewals at Cattawade Creek and River Stour, on behalf of Network Rail’s Anglia Works Delivery, near Manningtree Station.
Each bridge renewal was completed within a core 50-hour possession and handed back safely at line speed. Wheel-timber projects are known for their complexity and the inherent “unknowns” they bring, but the lessons learned from weekend 25 were applied effectively to weekend 26, helping to refine methods and improve efficiency for future renewals.
Stephen Given, Managing Director, commented:
“Wheel-timber projects always present unique challenges and demand precise coordination between all parties. The professionalism of our teams and the strong collaboration with Anglia Works Delivery ensured both possessions were completed safely, to the highest standard, and ahead of schedule.”
Pod-Trak extends thanks to all colleagues and supply chain partners involved for their contribution to another successful project, reinforcing our ongoing support for Network Rail’s asset renewal programme across the Anglia route.
