About the Role

Pod-Trak is seeking a proactive and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. You will be responsible for managing costs, contracts, and financial performance across a range of rail, civil engineering, and energy projects. The role involves working closely with project delivery teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting, contractual compliance, and commercial reporting, helping to drive sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial aspects of projects from tender to final account
• Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and change control documentation
• Support project managers with accurate cost forecasting and budget management
• Review contract terms and ensure compliance with NEC or JCT requirements
• Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including preparation of orders and agreements
• Evaluate subcontractor applications and prepare payment certificates
• Maintain detailed cost records and prepare monthly commercial reports
• Identify risks and opportunities to maximise project profitability
• Participate in progress meetings and liaise with clients and stakeholders on commercial matters
• Support the preparation of tenders and cost estimates as required

Requirements

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline
• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, rail, or utilities sectors
• Strong understanding of NEC and/or JCT contract administration
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard commercial software tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills with clients and supply chain partners

Desirable

• Chartered status (MRICS) or working towards professional qualification
• Experience within high-voltage, utilities, or infrastructure projects
• Understanding of cost control and project reporting systems
• Experience supporting framework or multi-site delivery models
