Spring 2017 issue

Welcome to the third edition of our Quarterly newsletter.
The last three months has seen another intense period of work delivering projects to our clients, with our teams working extremely hard over the Easter and two May Bank Holidays. I am pleased to say that this work passed off without any incidents or accidents, and it’s been another good period from a Health and Safety perspective.
It has, however, been noticeable that the number of close calls reported across the business has fallen, and if we are to continue improving and maturing our safety culture, it is important that we recognise and report those issues that could lead to accidents. Please keep up the good work, and with summer here, take extra care in the warm sunshine and be careful out there.
At Pod-Trak we recognise the need to keep pace with an ever changing world and the use of technology. In order to improve productivity and reporting, the business has decided to roll out a new Information Management System (IMS) which will headed up and launched by Brian Gildea, supported by Matt Ardley. Please ensure you take ownership to make it successful for you and your project, and ultimately for the business.
The second quarter also saw the successful completion of our largest and most challenging multi–disciplinary project to date, the Crossrail Ilford depot. Both our OHLE and Civils teams met the stringent completion milestones set by our client, and I would like to thank all the staff and teams involved in this key milestone Crossrail Project.
Everyone associated with this project should be proud of delivering on time without any lost – time or RIDDOR accidents While much of the focus has been on Ilford, we cannot forget about all the other projects our Communication, OHLE, P-Way, ETE, Civils and Airport teams have been successfully delivering across the UK. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, and the newsletter details updates on the status of these projects.
The business has been working hard behind the scenes to secure more work, and three recent awards were made to Pod-Trak Limited. The first is for the OHLE and Piling on the WAML Project; the second is Lostock Substation, and the third is the NWEP Phase 4 ATF Civils. Both Lostock and the ATF Civils are on the Northwest Electrification Project…View Newsletter

Heathrow Family Fun Day

Pod-Trak will be partaking in Heathrow’s annual ‘Family Fun Day’ for the second consecutive year. This is a huge event for Heathrow and will be taking place on Saturday 22nd July 2017 at T4 Virgin Atlantic hanger. This ‘Family Fun Day’ showcases an array of activities for children of all ages as well as adults. Last year’s event also allowed the children to look at and sit in a variety of specialist airport equipment, everything from fire engines, a helicopter display,  police vehicles and members of cabin crew were there to meet and greet. This year is deemed to be even bigger and better and really does have something for everyone!

Pod-Talk Spring 2017

Welcome to the second of our quarterly newsletters.

Firstly I would like to thank all of our staff who have worked hard over the past few months and a special
thanks to the guys who worked through the busy Christmas period. A number of our people have been
with the business since the start, and have seen numerous changes as the business matures, grows and
develops to remain a market leader supporting major clients in the rail and airport markets and we look
forward to continuing this over the next few years.

As I stated in the first newsletter, the 2016/2017 financial year has got off to a good, solid start and this is
evident in the broad range of project updates featured in this newsletter. With some projects drawing to
a close in the next few months and others starting up we need to focus on delivering safely on all projects,
irrespective of size, as they are equally important for our numerous clients and form the backbone of our
business. The past three months have seen a number of key milestones successfully and safely achieved,
and some excellent feedback from our clients. It has also coincided with the launch of our new website, and I
urge you to help us in keeping it updated with case studies and news.

As always, no matter how successfully we deliver for our customers, we have to ensure we do so in a safe and
healthy manner. It is vitally important that we continue to raise close calls, challenge unacceptable behaviour
and follow the Life Saving Rules to make sure we all go home safely every day. Please continue to look out for
each other, and let’s be careful out there.

With Spring time finally here, and hopefully some warmer weather as well, all that remains is for me to wish
you a very Happy and Safe Easter with your families…View Newsletter

Pod-Talk – First Issue

Welcome to the first of our quarterly newsletters.

As we embark on new markets and developing our existing divisions this newsletter is designed to keep you up to date with where we are as a company and where we are going in the future. www.pod-trak.com 2015 / 2016 started off at a slow pace for us at the start of the year but we finished strong in the last quarter of the year and have great prospects for the year 2016/2017 ahead with over 65% of Forecast turnover already secured.

Personally I am excited about the year ahead with securing some great work and also securing our largest project to date in Ilford depot for Volkerfitzpatrick through our Civils & OLE divisions working together we have demonstrated that we are the multidisciplinary provider that our clients want to work with. Last year we also strengthened our foothold on the Airports market with securing works direct for Heathrow Airport Ltd which is a great accomplishment for our business and will hopefully develop into a larger marketplace for us to trade within the Uk infrastructure.

Pod-Trak Ltd has developed and matured over the past couple of years and this is down to the continued hard work, support and culture of all our people and I look forward to carrying this relationship forward into the future. With the workload developing I also want to ensure that you keep a lookout for each other as we all need to go home safe every day and this is everybody’s responsibility so look out for each other. So no matter what your role if you see something wrong raise it and don’t walk by.

That’s all from me for now and I hope you enjoy the reading and please stay safe out there. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Paul O’Donnell Managing Director Pod-Trak Ltd….Read Newsletter

Safety Award

Congratulations to our Civils team, headed up by John Kearney, who have displayed and maintained exceptional safety standards on the Thameslink Key Output 2 project, coming out on top in the first two quarters of the Exceptional Safety Performance Award. Our Civils team have been present on this scheme for the best part of four years and have continued to deliver consistent levels of quality and health & safety. With year on year improvement in the awareness and implementation of behavioural safety, we have recorded zero RIDDOR and increased our Close Call reporting, both internally and via the Principal Contractor, using Balfour Beatty’s Observations app (available to download free for Android and iOS). We aim to keep improving our performance and cement our place at the top of the leaderboard through to project completion in 2017.

Pod-Trak open a new Department

Pod-Trak are proud to announce the opening of a new department in the business to cater for our ever-increasing portfolio of works at Heathrow Airport. Through many successful projects delivered for Heathrow Express on the rail infrastructure side of the business, Pod-Trak have expanded upon the scopes of works that can be delivered in-house and have taken the decision to offer a dedicated team, headed-up by Senior Contracts Manager Gary Kane, to deliver high quality projects in a diverse environment at Heathrow Airport.

Airside works at T5 baggage handling facilities have already been awarded to Pod-Trak by Heathrow Airport Ltd (HAL) through this department, where long-standing water ingress issues will be tackled, protecting Heathrow’s assets and passenger possessions from future damage and degradation for many years to come.

Future projects currently in the design phase with early contractor involvement from the new team include revamp of the Heathrow Express ticket desk locations at T2, T3 CTA, T4, T5 and Paddington Station, drawing upon experience within the team in architectural cladding, feature metalwork, fit-out, electrical and comms projects; early negotiations are also in place to refresh and rebrand the POD Parking stations located in the T5 campus. With endless opportunity available at Heathrow and other airports & railway stations throughout the UK, Pod-Trak resolve to offer the same quality, practical thinking and dedication experienced by their clients in the railway sector, hoping to break the mould for the procurement models currently in place for these hubs along the way in offering the best value for money possible.
