PodTalk Newsletter – Issue 7 Summer 2018

In the last newsletter we spoke about our plan to launch our values and PALS initiative throughout April and May. Following a series of briefings across London, Manchester and Bristol, we have now met with and briefed most of the people who work with Pod-Trak,with the remainder and any new starters planned for later this summer.

It was great getting to meet all the team at the different sites, and based on the feedback we received I feel that it was really worthwhile. I would like to thank everyone for their efforts to attend and take the very important message on board. Our values and PALS initiatives are very important to me and for all our people. We are embracing them as part of our business, and as we grow they are becoming integral in putting the building blocks in place to help us stand out within the industries we work in. I know that going forward our
teams will embrace these and instil them in the business through what we do every day. Our values are Excellence, Trust, Collaboration, Innovation and Integrity. We believe that by working to these values Pod-Trak will continue to be a place where we can all feel we belong. Our PALS initiative is about our behaviours and focuses on having a Plan, having the right Attitude, Leading by example and Sharing our experiences and knowledge with those around us. As you will be aware, at present we are going through a very busy period of work delivery and tendering which is good for us all and secures new contracts going forward. New OHSAS 18001 Certification

Thank you to all our staff who have helped us certify to the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard. This certification demonstrates our ability to promote and deliver safe practice. We will always commit to keeping our people, clients and the public safe throughout the delivery of every project.

PodTalk Newsletter – Winter 2017

Welcome to the fifth edition of our quarterly newsletter.

As you know, this year is the 10th anniversary of Pod-Trak, which is an important milestone for any company. When we started out, Brenda and I could never have known if we would last 10 weeks, let alone 10 years. But we had a strong vision, a willingness to work hard and a belief in recruiting the most talented people as possible. A decade on, the company stands as one of the UK’s leading multifaceted organisations. That success is underpinned by a set of core values, which we promote frequently across every branch of our business. These values are…

We remain committed to these values in everything we do.

Glancing back on 2017, we saw turnover exceed £30 million in the UK and established a new office in Ireland. We had a number of very good contract wins over the final quarter of the year, alongside a good period of delivery. Our communications division expanded its client portfolio and executed some exciting projects to the highest standard, including DOO installation at Heathrow Airport for new client Linbrooke, under the management of Mario Gonzalez.

Civils South had a very successful quarter in challenging times, highlighted by the successful VolkerFitzpatrick WAML Civils Contract under the management of Cathal O’Sullivan.

The quarter also saw the completion of the Heathrow Airport Pad Replacement Project by the Permanent Way team. The 10-week operation culminated in the replacement of 70,000 pads, 140,000 clips and 140,000 insulators. The works were completed without incident or accident and ahead of programme, thanks to the efforts of the team led by Steve Gleeson and Esh Fuat.

PodTalk Newsletter – Autumn 2017

Welcome to the fouth edition of our quarterly newsletter.

August 7th 2017 was an important milestone for us reaching a decade of successive growth and expansion. This has led to Pod-Trak’s position as one of the country’s leading infrastructure supply chain partners, employing and contracting more than 300 people and operating from three strategically positioned office/depot locations across the U.K. We are now recognised as a business that has the resources to drive solutions and solve tough problems. This is because we are engaged and well embedded through strong performancedelivery and we have the deepest commitment to delivering a great service – First time every time. There is no doubt in my mind that the broad range of services we deliver has become our unique selling point.

With our ability to offer bundles services, helping to streamline the provision of specialist works and giving customer cost-effective solutions that maintain an outstanding level of quality, by utilising Pod-Trak as a single source/dedicated partner. I strongly believe that our approach to providing the best possible customer service is the number one factor in Pod-Trak’s ongoing success. Customer Service has been our main priority since we started out. We exist to serve our customer by delivering consistently excellent services and we must always look to measure our success through our customer’s perspective rather than our own. Our strong market position can also be tracked back to the sustainability of the company’s financial strength.

Spring 2017 issue

Welcome to the third edition of our Quarterly newsletter.
The last three months has seen another intense period of work delivering projects to our clients, with our teams working extremely hard over the Easter and two May Bank Holidays. I am pleased to say that this work passed off without any incidents or accidents, and it’s been another good period from a Health and Safety perspective.
It has, however, been noticeable that the number of close calls reported across the business has fallen, and if we are to continue improving and maturing our safety culture, it is important that we recognise and report those issues that could lead to accidents. Please keep up the good work, and with summer here, take extra care in the warm sunshine and be careful out there.
At Pod-Trak we recognise the need to keep pace with an ever changing world and the use of technology. In order to improve productivity and reporting, the business has decided to roll out a new Information Management System (IMS) which will headed up and launched by Brian Gildea, supported by Matt Ardley. Please ensure you take ownership to make it successful for you and your project, and ultimately for the business.
The second quarter also saw the successful completion of our largest and most challenging multi–disciplinary project to date, the Crossrail Ilford depot. Both our OHLE and Civils teams met the stringent completion milestones set by our client, and I would like to thank all the staff and teams involved in this key milestone Crossrail Project.
Everyone associated with this project should be proud of delivering on time without any lost – time or RIDDOR accidents While much of the focus has been on Ilford, we cannot forget about all the other projects our Communication, OHLE, P-Way, ETE, Civils and Airport teams have been successfully delivering across the UK. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, and the newsletter details updates on the status of these projects.
The business has been working hard behind the scenes to secure more work, and three recent awards were made to Pod-Trak Limited. The first is for the OHLE and Piling on the WAML Project; the second is Lostock Substation, and the third is the NWEP Phase 4 ATF Civils. Heathrow Family Fun Day

Pod-Trak will be partaking in Heathrow’s annual ‘Family Fun Day’ for the second consecutive year. This is a huge event for Heathrow and will be taking place on Saturday 22nd July 2017 at T4 Virgin Atlantic hanger. This ‘Family Fun Day’ showcases an array of activities for children of all ages as well as adults. Last year’s event also allowed the children to look at and sit in a variety of specialist airport equipment, everything from fire engines, a helicopter display,  police vehicles and members of cabin crew were there to meet and greet. This year is deemed to be even bigger and better and really does have something for everyone!

Pod-Talk Spring 2017

Welcome to the second of our quarterly newsletters.

Firstly I would like to thank all of our staff who have worked hard over the past few months and a special
thanks to the guys who worked through the busy Christmas period. A number of our people have been
with the business since the start, and have seen numerous changes as the business matures, grows and
develops to remain a market leader supporting major clients in the rail and airport markets and we look
forward to continuing this over the next few years.

As I stated in the first newsletter, the 2016/2017 financial year has got off to a good, solid start and this is
evident in the broad range of project updates featured in this newsletter. With some projects drawing to
a close in the next few months and others starting up we need to focus on delivering safely on all projects,
irrespective of size, as they are equally important for our numerous clients and form the backbone of our
business. The past three months have seen a number of key milestones successfully and safely achieved,
and some excellent feedback from our clients. It has also coincided with the launch of our new website, and I
urge you to help us in keeping it updated with case studies and news.

As always, no matter how successfully we deliver for our customers, we have to ensure we do so in a safe and
healthy manner. It is vitally important that we continue to raise close calls, challenge unacceptable behaviour
and follow the Life Saving Rules to make sure we all go home safely every day. Please continue to look out for
each other, and let’s be careful out there.

With Spring time finally here, and hopefully some warmer weather as well, all that remains is for me to wish
